Qatar Information eXchange (QIX)

 Overview

Qatar Information eXchange (QIX) is one of the major national projects that will be considered as the Qatari gateway for providing all kinds of information using the best analytical tools. Moreover it will provide all the indicators that will help decision makers and policy makers when developing policies.

 Goal

To provide quality information infrastructure based on international accepted data and metadata standards for the users to develop and monitor evidence-based policies

 Objective

Construct Qatar statistical data warehouse.

Ensures quality information from national and international sources transferred into the data sources of QIX

n

Allows stakeholders to access information in a user-friendly way from pre-defined, calculated indicator sets to their own analysis and forecasting

n

Uses international accepted standards i.e. SDMX (Statistical Data and Metadata Exchange)

n

Based on information available in QIX the users have the right means to develop and monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of evidence-based policies for the future, hence helping the decision makers to achieve their goals

QIX Implementation– Phase 1

Feasibility and proof of concept for population prototype

Implementation of complete IT applications (e.g. Business Intelligence) and development of prototype reports and indicators in a test environment

QIX Implementation– Phase 2

Pilot Project = QIX Version 1 (= Business and Technical design)
