The General Secretariat of the Planning Council is presenting this first issue of the Bulletin of National Accounts, State of Qatar, in conformity with the methodologies of the 1993 United Nations System of National Accounts, SNA 93, representing the first phase of the system implementation. This publication comes among a series of specialized bulletins, within the frame of the Council's ambitious plan for providing and promoting economic statistics in a way that assists those concerned with the preparation, follow-up and evaluation of economic and social development plans, as well as researchers diagnosing the Qatari economy.

The General Secretariat of the Planning Council appreciates constructive suggestions from those interested and from specialists in statistics and economic data, aiming at improving the contents of this bulletin in the future.
