     Reporting Relationship: Project Manager of QNV

Qualifications – Education and Experience:

1. A PhD or Masters degree in a social science from an internationally recognized university.

2. Expertise in one or more of the following areas: policy research, policy development, strategic planning, socio-economic development and/or public sector reform.

3. Ten years’ working experience, five of them with government or an international organization, or in a consultancy organization providing services to the public sector

4. Strong client orientation and experience in successful stakeholder engagement and communication.

5. Experience and exposure to the Middle East region, particularly countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, would be advantageous.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Play a key role in the Qatar National Vision initiative, in terms of the formulation, drafting and implementation of national strategies and plans.

2. Engage stakeholders in policy and strategic development, involving Ministries and Agencies in the State of Qatar as well as the private and civil society sectors.

3. Monitor the progress of Qatar’s human and social development on an ongoing basis to provide input to assess the effectiveness of the Qatar National Vision initiative.

4. Provide analytical support and advice to public sector institutions in the formulation of their own development strategies.

5. Monitor relevant developments in the global knowledge community and provide advice to GSDP leadership on current issues and trends of relevance to Qatar.

6. Transfer skills to Qatari staff and mentor and coach junior colleagues.

7. Select, provide oversight, and manage the work of outside consultants.

8. Other activities and responsibilities as assigned by Director of Social Affairs Department.
